Abstract
A letter to Elizabeth Fisher in Greenbush, New York from Felicia Emerson (possibly Felicia Emerson Welch) describing the naming of Mount Norwottuck by the Amherst College senior class of 1846 and a July 4th picnic on the mountain. Edward Hitchcock is mentioned for his role in arranging the party, along with "Miss Lyon" and the "South Hadely ladies," as well as for his address to the assembly. Felicia Emerson also recounts her religious confirmation into the Christian Church.
