Abstract
A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman explains [Sarah] Doolittle's delay in finishing the coloring of the maps and the plan for completing them. Silliman also writes how much he is paying Doolittle for her expenses and the amount she is charging Hitchcock. He also concedes that the practice of painting geological maps is too tedious and expensive to continue with.
