Abstract
Undated notes for a speech by Edward Hitchcock for a naming ceremony (presumably for Mt. Norwottuck). Hitchcock lists the steps of the naming ceremony, lists some subjects he plans to include in his address (such as the geological changes of the valley, the early settlers' experiences, and the connection between beautiful natural scenery and strong morality and religion), and he ends with a note on the logistics of bringing food for the occasion.
