Abstract
A sermon by Edward Hitchcock prepared for the ordination of [Samuel] Harris at the parish in Conway. Hitchcock explains to the congregation what he has told Harris to expect from them, saying that they are an affectionate congregation, will not place too many demands upon Harris, are very pious, and their financial support is sufficient. Hitchcock then reminisces about his time as the minister at Conway, regretting that he was not able to be more faithful. He says this ordination is an opportunity for the Conway congregation to flourish and encourages the people to not waste time in building a relationship with their new pastor.
