Abstract
Sermon notes by Edward Hitchcock for a sermon delivered at Amherst College in February 1835. The notes discuss the Holy Spirit, outlining what or who it is, its role as described in scripture, how one may be blessed with a visit from the Spirit, and what one might gain from praying and laboring for the Spirit. Hitchcock ends with a list of final remarks on the concept of divine influence. Isaiah 32:13-16 is quoted.
