Abstract
Sermon notes by Edward Hitchcock for a sermon delivered at Amherst College on June 1, 1835. The notes outline ideas about why a minister must maintain a higher standard of piety than the general population. He lists a brief outline of four reasons why, followed by three inferences that can be drawn about this topic. 1 Timothy 4:12 is quoted and Hitchcock notes a date and location on the last page.
