The original painting was done by Margaret Gillies in 1841 and the stipple engraving was done by J. C. Armytage. Gillies' name is inscribed below the portrait to the left, and Armytage's name is inscribed below the portrait to the right. A fascimile of Wordsworth's signature is also included on the print.
