S. Rhea letter to Justin Perkins in which Rhea writes about the health and sweet character of Sophie Perkins (Rhea). She remarks on the storms which are bad for babies and turkey chicks. Rhea writes that she hopes Aziz will cook when they come home, that Miss Rice looks so tired, and that Parangis has gone after being informed there was no more work for her in the Female Seminary. She also discusses the effects of the storm and asks about the roads, saying she longs to get their precious invalid back.

Sarah J. Rhea letter to the Perkins family in which Rhea writes that she was glad to have seen them all together and remarks on the news that Justin Perkins is comfortable. She writes regarding where and whom they visited after the Perkinses, mentioning Dr. and Mrs. Eddy; Mrs. Doremus; Mrs. Breath, her children, and her sisters Mrs. Merry, Mrs. Whiting, and Mrs. Day; John & Brainerd; Mr. R.; mother Rhea and sisters Ellen & Maggie; Ma; Sophie; Annie; Aunt Jane; and Pa. She includes a drawing of "the exquisite Italian stone near Father's grave" with an inscription honoring the missionary dead. She also notes that she is sending copies of the Memoir to every missionary station at her own expense.

S. J. Rhea letter to Justin Perkins in which Rhea writes that the mail has come and they do not hear from their dear homes. She shares that the news from Mr. Williams is sad. Rhea also writes that they anticipate much pleasure in Perkins' visit tomorrow and says that their children tease him because they love him and because he encourages them by indulgence. She notes that she always things of the Perkinses' precious little band in heaven when she sees him, and she says that Mr. Rhea improves.
