He asks that Hitchcock send a him a sample of specimens in return. Sandberger also mentions including an address he delivered the previous year that might be of interest to Hitchcock, but it does not appear with the letter. Guido Sandberger letter to Edward Hitchcock, 1845 June 25 Edward Hitchcock receipt of shipment by Schmidt & Balchen, 1850 June 13 Schmidt & Balchen A bill of lading for shipment of "one box contents unknown" from Edward Hitchcock to Dr. Guido Sandberger by the shipping company Schmidt & Balchen. The box was transported by boat from New York to Rotterdam. Edward Hitchcock has written "Schmidt + Balchen 1850" on the verso.
