A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright writes about his health and recent travels attending Missionary Conventions, staying in Boston, seeing Caty and Miss Fisk (Fiske) in South Hadley, and spending a night with Bro. Cobb. He mentions that Mr. Treat saw Dr. Tyler at Somerville but not Mrs. P. and Dr. Anderson was going to Somerville. He also mentions that Fisk is busy purchasing Mr. Laurie materials for the book about the Persian Holyoke (the Nestorian Female Seminary). Wright discusses the punches, type, and other printing business, mentioning the Greek reading and Benjamin. He also writes about talking with Dr. Robinson about the new edition of the Syriac Testament. He provides details about his upcoming travel plans and notes that John Henry and Mary are sick.

He notes that the work is being done in another manner than what Perkins suggested and writes about the case. He quotes Bro. Cochran's views on the subject of the Bible Society's proposition and text of a letter from Bro. Rhea on the topic. He mentions the Greek text, the Peshito (Peshitta), and Dr. Robinson and provides his own opinions on the topic. He responds to Perkins urging him to not wait on carrying the work through, his questions, and his order for an album for Fatullah Khan. Wright also provides brief updates on Lucy and Caty and asks if Mar Yohannan is still active in his opposition. He mentions F.B. Wheeler.

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright writes about the changes to his plans, from everyone in his family except Caty returning to Persia to his family staying and him returning alone. He notes the misgivings of his wife regarding the previous plan and the letter from her elder brother remonstrating against them going, which led Wright to reconsider. He also notes the difficulty with the prior plan relating to where to settle Caty and Caty's health. He says his family will probably remain in this place (Poughkeepsie) and that the time of his leaving is not settled. Wright also shares what he knows of other returned missionaries plans.

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright responds to Perkins marvelling that Wright said nothing of returning to Persia in his January letter by explaining that the N.T. (New Testament) work has kept him. He also expresses his pains at Perkins' statement, "the small type does not take here - I am glad of it, since the edition is to be changed" and responds to Perkins saying the Peshito (Peshitta) is to be set aside. He says it is his understanding that twenty years ago when the Bible Society consented to them putting the Greek readings on the margin it was a compromise meant to be temporary. Wright continues to write on the topic and disagrees with Perkins that the Peshito should be set aside. He writes again the following day about Perkins' solitary position, Benjamin proof-reading, and expecting to hear of the fall of Vicksburg. He notes that Bro. Ambrose was working among the soldiers in Fredericksburg.

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright writes about the transfer of the Greek readings to the body of the text in the new edition of the Syriac Testament. He shares his thoughts on the matter and those of Dr. Robinson, who mentioned the reluctance of the Board of Managers of the Bible Society in authorizing the printing of the translation of Peshito (Peshitta). He also provides the response of Dr. Holdich of the Society to the proposed changes. He says he expects to have a copy ready for the printers in three days and mentions Benjamin. In a postscript he notes receipt of a specimen of the new type and the delay, which has been great.

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright responds to news of the new Firman. He says it seems to be the same as the old in regards to the restrictions on the number of schools, pupils, and sects and the only new idea is in "'teaching sciences' & 'not religion.'" He goes on to provide updates on the progress of the New Testament work, mentioning Mr. Cobb. He also responds to Perkins alluding to Wright hastening back to Persia. He says that the question of Lucy and Caty (and where they will stay or if one will go to Persia) is not yet solved. He provides updates on Caty, Lucy, Sarah, Johnny, and Mary. He mentions what he has heard of or learned from other missionaries and notes that the draft commenced there today.

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright says that enclosed is a page of the Testament from the electrotype plate, and he writes about the book. He references the Bible Society desiring to electrotype the whole Bible and asks "if this should not be done, would it not be well to have the Psalms at least electrotyped?" He writes further about this idea and goes on to discuss the efforts of him, Coan, and Cobb to raise material aid for the suffering Nestorians. He shares what he heard about Henry (Perkins) from John Labaree, mentions Woman and her Savior in Persia, provides updates on Lucy and Sarah, and remarks on Perkins' letter to the Missionary Herald on missionary children.

Taylor, Mr. Green of the Bible Society, how often Perkins was spoken of, and the Wesleyan Church. He says on his way there he stayed in Middlebury where he saw Henry (Perkins). He goes on to write regarding the progress of the Pocket Testament. He mentions Br. Cobb, Benjamin, and the Greek reading. Wright discusses the Bible Society's wish to electrotype the whole Bible for them and asks for Perkins' opinions on the matter. He provides brief updates on his family, including Caty, Lucy, and Sarah, and on his health.

He goes on to write regarding the new edition of the Testament. He also writes about returning to Persia and Lucy going with them. Wright notes that he will see Mrs. P. (Charlotte Bass Perkins) before leaving. He shares updates on his activities and on others, mentioning the Oriental Society in N. Haven, the Bible House, Prof. Fisher, Dr. Owen, and Henry (Perkins). He discusses Dr. Young not wanting to return to the Mission and the question of Mrs. Powers (now Mrs. Crane) going to Adrianople. He also writes about his family's upcoming move and local donations to the Mission.

Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright shares that a few days after he wrote Perkins and said he was planning to return to Persia alone, he received a letter from Lucy urging she be allowed to go with him and another from Dr. Anderson approving the plan. He says Mrs. Fiske and Stoddard also thought well of it. He explains that he went to see her in South Hadley and the conclusion is that she is to return with him to Persia if the Prudential Committee approves. He updates Perkins on their plans for the trip. He mentions Bro. Goodell, Pera, and Bro. Cobb. Wright also notes that John Henry is sick with a fever.
