They remark positively on his character and give their best wishes for his prosperity and the prosperity of the Institution. The testimonial states "By vote of the Senior Class," and adjacent to this statement are the names S. Maxwell and J. Burt with "Committee" written below their names. It has been determined that S. Maxwell stands for Solomon Maxwell and J. Burt stands for Jairus Burt. There is an additional note on the back of the document of "Senior Class 1824." The lyrics indicate the song is a patriotic song for the Nelson brothers' imaginary Big Continent. There are several initials or abbreviations at the bottom of the first page. It is unclear which of the Nelson brothers created this item.
