Kuntsler; and discussion groups of parents and seniors focused on the Student Strike of 1970, which took place in Chapin Hall and in Porter Lounge of Converse Hall; and a luncheon in Valentine Hall. Photographs of the Commencement ceremony held in Coolidge Cage of the Alumni Gymnasium and Athletic Complex show students, faculty, and honorary degree awardees in academic regalia. The honorary degree recipients are shown posing with Calvin Hastings Plimpton. Also included are portraits of recipients that were taken in May 1970. Honorary degree awardees were Stephen C. Kleene, Ian L. McHarg, Paul A. Raushenbush, I.F. Stone, Senator Thomas F. Eagleton, Stephen Grant, Luis A. Ferré, Franklin K. Patterson, and John C. Esty. Some photographs were taken by Robert Cornigans and others are presumed to have been taken by the Jim Gerhard who was the College Photographer from the mid-1960s to 1971.
