He asks that Perkins return it when he no longer requires it. Reed says cholera appears to have left Tehran but he is sorry to note that it has raged at Bagdad (Baghdad) and Sheeraz (Shiraz) and re-appeared at Koom (Qom). He also notes the continued presence of small pox and fever in Tehran and the approach of fever to Perkins' district. He notes that Meerza Ibraheem (Mīrzā Muhammed Ibrāhīm) has an attack of small pox. Reed says that he is sending Dr. Wiseman's lectures and will try to get to Perkins the loan of whatever part of the Bible in Persian which might be among Glen's effects. He provides the address of Glen's father, William Glen, in Edinburgh. Dr. Bell and Count Satiges are mentioned in the letter. He also writes regarding Perkins' received proposal concerning property and the house of the Nestorian Patriarch, sharing Colonel Sheil's thoughts on the subject. The sender of this letter may have been Keith Edward Abbott. He writes that cases are still reported in Tehran, so that the Shâh and others keep away from that city. He also writes of the spread of cholera. Abbott goes on to discuss an answer from Colonel Sheil regarding Perkins' proposal about the house. He also writes regarding the affairs of Daoud Khan, mentioning Yahia Khan. Abbott notes that he is expecting Colonel Farrant and "his lady" in a few days, and in a postscript he writes that cholera has just broken out there (Tabriz).
