Hitchcock writes about their religious practices, their poetry, and their methods of instruction. He also discusses the history of Druidism and the growth of Christianity in areas formerly dominated by Druidism. He draws several inferences from the example of these Celts, explaining that their eventual conversion to Christianity demonstrates what will be the result of current Christian missions and missionaires in non-Christian countries. Hitchcock has noted on the final page that he delivered this lecture at "the Monthly Concert" and lists each date he presented it. Druidism
