H.G.O. Dwight letter to Justin Perkins and Asahel Grant in which Dwight responds to letters received from them both. He writes regarding the death of his wife (Elizabeth Barker Dwight) and son, John White, from plague. He expresses his faith in the mercy of God, and he writes of his blessings and God's providence. Dwight notes that he is still in quarantine but hopes to remove to Pera this week.

H.G.O. Dwight letter to Justin Perkins in which Dwight welcomes Perkins back "to this Eastern world" and says that they will be glad to see Perkins and his family as soon as they can come up. He writes regarding their accommodations, explaining that the Perkinses will stay with the Goodells as Mrs. Perkins would be best to assist Mrs. Goodell who is expecting soon. Dwight notes that he is forwarding on several letters to Perkins and others, says that Dr. Smith is waiting for them in Broosa (Bursa), and shares his thoughts on how the party destined for the Nestorians in the mountains should travel there. He provides a description of his house. Multiple missionaries are mentioned by name in the letter.

He says that he is now nearly settled in Mr. (William) Goodell's family and is getting back into the regular duties of the mission again. He writes of his loneliness after the loss of his wife and with his family scattered, noting that only his son Charles is with him now. Dwight discusses his faith in God and his blessings, including that his two other boys are provided for in Broosa (Bursa). He remarks on the (Syriac) type Perkins wrote about and Grant's inquiries regarding postage charges.

Dwight letter to Justin Perkins and Asahel Grant in which Dwight responds to communications from Perkins and Grant and says that he will attend to their directions in regard to the Syriac Scriptures and he will translate their letter to someone with an illegible name. He writes that he will also attend to Grant's requests. Dwight comments on information provided by Grant and Perkins, discussing the Nestorian people and the missionaries' plans. He also shares news of his own mission, its schools, and other missionaries, mentioning Mr. Goodell and Mr. Schneider. Dwight notes that a reverend from Boston is there after wearing himself out pleading for the temperance cause.

Dwight also comments on the death of Mrs. Smith and the grief of Mr. Smith. He writes of faith and goes on to discuss boxes he sent to Perkins' mission. Dwight writes regarding Perkins' request that he no longer open his communications for the (Mission) Rooms and simply forward them unopened. He discusses his mission's high school closure due to plague and the health of Eliza Oscancan. He also writes of boxes on their way to Perkins and Grant and the Scriptures Perkins ordered.

Dwight letter to Asahel Grant in which Dwight responds to letters from Grant, congratulates him on the birth of his son, and provides his opinions on Grant's proposed visit to the mountain Nestorians. He says that Grant should not feel any haste to go and should place little confidence in a promise of any Kurdish Pasha. He also asks why it is necessary for Brother (Justin) Perkins to go with him and suggests alternatives. Dwight mentions Brother (James Lyman) Merrick, Mr. Barker, and the American Bible Society and provides a copy of a bill for the Syriac Bibles.

Dwight letter to Justin Perkins in which Dwight writes that he feels Perkins has neglected them and he thinks it is best for them to keep up at least some occasional correspondence with one another. Dwight goes on to discuss his mission's schools and several individuals. He mentions the high school, the Greek girl's school in Pera, Baron Senekerim, Mr. Jackson, Mr. Johnston, Mr. Brown, Com. (Commodore) Porter, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith in Smyrna (İzmir). He passes on remarks from Mr. McNeill regarding Mrs. Perkins' condition.

He mentions the death of Mrs. Smith and the arrival of the Schaufflers who recently suffered the loss of their two children. Dwight writes of an outbreak of the plague and of frequent society with others. He also writes regarding accounts and bills. In the letter, Dwight mentions Mr. Smith, Mr. Temple, Mr. Adger, Mr. Southgate, Mr. Calhoun, the American Bible Society, and Mr. Hill.

He explains that he had to suddenly leave Boston for New York and so did not see Mrs. Perkins' sister Mrs. Cozzens or Mr. Cozzens. He also writes of a conversation on a steamboat with one of Justin Perkins' cousins, of interviewing the teacher Mrs. Cook (presumably Harriet B. Cooke), and of the trials the Perkinses have undergone.

He expresses his joy regarding the visit Perkins made to them and writes that he encloses a letter to Mr. Bliss from Dr. Grant. He notes that Grant expects the party destined for the mountains to come on immediately but says they have advised Dr. Smith to wait in Trebizond. He writes that he has enclosed in the box Miss Myer's spectacles and sends his regards to all.

H.G.O. Dwight letter to Justin Perkins in which Dwight says that he has not received Dr. (Asahel) Grant's letter ordering articles yet. He writes regarding a letter he is forwarding from Mr. Hallock, saying he can see no objection to writing to England in regards to the type. He writes further regarding the Syriac type and then goes on to discuss Perkins' narrow escape from the hands of an assassin, the confidence Perkins' expressed in expecting the Holy Spirit to soon visit his Station, the status of his own mission, and boxes that he forwarded on to Perkins. In the letter, he mentions the Patriarch, Mr. Southgate, Mr. Hill, Mr. Calhoun, Mr. Holladay, and the American Bible Society.
