H. Southgate letter to Justin Perkins in which Southgate notes that Perkins does not need to feel obligated to write Southgate letters of equal length to his own. He writes about (Jacob) Samuel leaving for Georgia, Samuel's future prospects, Samuel's proposed visit to Ooroomiah (Urmia), and the paper regarding Samuel that has been sent to Captain Todd to go to India. Southgate provides his opinions on a possible school in Tabreez (Tabriz), stipends for pupils of mission schools, and missionaries going abroad for education (natives of another nation, especially Muslims, going to the U.S. for missionary training). He responds to information Perkins provided regarding the improving health of individuals, taxes, and the account of Hoernle and Scheider's adventure. Southgate discusses Taliatine, his hopes to leave for Tehran soon, and updates on other missionaries: Mr. Walters and family, Pfander, and Kreis. In the letter, Southgate writes that he sends Perkins a copy of the paper regarding Samuel, but it no longer accompanies this item.

M. P. Parmelee letter to Justin Perkins in which Parmelee responds to a letter from Perkins. He compares the success of their missions, responds to Perkins' suggested writing frequency, and shares updates on his one-month-old daughter. He discusses the location of the Annual Meeting as either Kharpoot (Harpoot) or there (in Erzurum) and writes that he hopes Brother Cochran will still come. He goes on to discuss the Cochrans' letters and notes his own association with Mrs. Cochran's brother, Mr. Plumb. He says that Nellie Frost of Plumb's congregation is not his wife of the same name. Parmelee also shares news of Mrs. Burbank's health learned via Mr. Knapp, mentions a Baron's recovering health, and writes about Ms. Babcock's case.

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin Perkins in which Fiske writes of spending the last several months in Boston after leaving the Seminary (Mount Holyoke Seminary). She remarks on the possibility of her returning to Oroomiah (Urmia) and discusses a visit with Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins (in the asylum). Writing of Perkins' separation from his family, she expresses her faith in God's designs. Fiske also writes regarding American missionaries returning to their fields and Perkins' impressions of a book he called the "Persian Holyoke" (Woman and Her Savior in Persia). Mr. Laurie, Miss Lyon, Miss Rice, Dr. Tyler, Mr. Beber, Henry (Martyn Perkins), Mr. Eddy, Dr. Lord, Mr. Washburn, Mr. Hazen, Mr. Treat, and Dr. Anderson are all mentioned in the letter. The letter appears to be missing a page.

She updates Perkins on Mr. Cobb's health and writes regarding their uncomfortable voyage via ship to their current location. Cobb says they are not sure of when they will leave or by what route, discusses the difficult decision for them to leave Oroomiah (Urmia), and remarks on Perkins' returning to his field. Cobb also discusses letters received and mentions Mrs. Breath, Mrs. Thompson, Dr. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Pollard, and Miss Beach.

Calhoun) letter to Justin Perkins in which Calhoun writes that new generations have come on since they entered the field and remarks on those still left, mentioning Brothers Schauffler, Schneider, Powers, Riggs, and Thomson. He also writes of faith in God and the afterlife and sympathises with Perkins' trials. Calhoun says that Lucy Wright is there in Abeih (Aabey) with them this summer. He writes of children there and in the United States. In a postscript he passes on a message from Wright.

(Ebenezer) Burgess letter to Justin Perkins in which Burgess begins by writing on December 12, 1836 regarding his expectations for his missionary appointment and the recent tours of Mr. Arms on islands in Southeast Asia, mentioning Borneo and Sumatra. He writes further on January 1 and 2, 1837 regarding his recent missionary appointment to the "Indian archipelago" and his companion for life Miss Grant (Mary Grant Burgess). He remarks on the missionary spirit at Andover Theological Seminary and updates Perkins on changes at Amherst College. Burgess also writes of faith and spirituality. Mr Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. Stoddard, Mrs. Perkins, Mr. Tyler, Mr. Fiske, Professor Park, Dr. Skinner, and Mr. Anderson are all mentioned in the letter.

Z.D. Banister letter to Justin Perkins in which Banister says that Miss Banister may not be able to reply to his letter. Z.D. Banister goes on to write regarding Melinda Rankin and her missionary work in Mexico, the work of Catherine Bent who is supported by the Freedmen's Aid Society, Mary Withington wanting to write the study of her father Leonard Withington, a convention of Presbyterian delegates and the brotherly love between them and Episcopalian clergy, an article in The Churchman, the Nestorians, and local pastor James G. Johnston. Banister mentions Elizabeth Wheelwright, Fidelia Fiske, Hattie Clark, and the American Missionary Association in the letter.

Fiske discusses her thoughts on Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins going to an asylum and Justin Perkins returning to the mission in Persia. She also writes regarding the possibility of her return to the mission. She mentions Miss Rice and the book Woman and Her Savior in Persia. She also writes of her progress on the work on Miss Lyon and discusses the status of Henry (Martyn Perkins), Dr. Wright, Mr. Hazen, and Mr. and Mrs. Coan. In closing, Fiske writes of faith in God.

He discusses the decision, responds to a letter received from Perkins, and writes of when he and Mr. R. (Elias Riggs) will likely go. Benjamin writes of the possible effect of the change on a woman whose name is illegible, possibly Mrs. B. or Mrs. R. He also writes of Dr. Robinson who has been their guest for a few days.

W. Goodell letter to Justin Perkins in which Goodell expresses his gratitude that Perkins allows for the sharing of so many of his communications. He responds to information from Perkins and discusses the importance of keeping themselves in a healthy state. Goodell shares updates on the Schaufflers and Brother Smith and says that the Temples, Mr. Adger, and a delegation from Broosa (Bursa) will meet there next week. He writes again at a later date, responding to the news that Perkins will no longer send his journals open. He discusses how other missions send their communications, open or sealed. Goodell notes where the Benjamins and Ladds have gone, that Miss Williams has married Mr. Hebard, and that their brethren from Smyrna (İzmir) and Broosa (Bursa) are no longer coming due to the plague.
