He expresses their gratitude for Perkins' notes. Labaree goes on to write about their travels. He mentions Cherdewar, Memikan, and Kochannis and notes the heat in Cherdewar. He discusses the audience they had yesterday, Eslee's visits to all the houses, and the people (in Tircanis). He also notes their upcoming travels toward Kochannis and says that Mr. Shedd keeps along near them. In closing he says that he had hoped for brighter words from America though he did not expect them.
