Lady Hope Grant, Mrs. Cole Black, Ellen Harper, Mrs. Shedd, and the Sisters of Mercy are all mentioned in the letter.

John C. Smith letter to Justin Perkins in which Smith thanks Perkins for his correspondence and says that it prompts the missionary spirit among them. He writes regarding his church (Fourth Presbyterian Church) and their strong feeling for Home Missions over Foreign Missions, growing out of the fact that the Roman Catholics and Puseyites are making vigorous efforts there. He clarifies, however, that their monthly concert is regularly attended and they still make contributions to the Society. Smith also writes about their Junior Missionary Society, the death of brother Armstrong and lack of a successor, the accounts of revivals from Perkins' station, and the meeting of the Board in Buffalo in September.

Benjamin Schneider letter to Justin Perkins in which Schneider writes about the events leading to the closure of the school Mrs. Schneider had commenced: the response of the Greek bishop, a letter from the Patriarchate, and two printed letters about the missionaries. He discusses orders from the bishop that all the books prepared and circulated by the missionaries be delivered up, the subsequent carrying out of these orders by priests, and efforts by the bishop to displace Schauffler from his house. He says these efforts were prevented by the Turkish authority, noting that he and the bishop are Christian and he was protected by a "Mussuluman" (Muslim) Turk. He writes of the mission's future prospects. Schauffler also remarks on his and Perkins' children.

Frank N.H. Young letter to Justin Perkins in which Young says he spoke with Mr. Abbott on the subjects Perkins' mentioned and Mr. A. is strongly in favor of English protection for Christians in Persia. He writes further on the options they discussed and the suggestions of Abbott. Young goes on to write regarding his stay in Georgia and discussions with Pastor Roth about German colonists making donations to the mission, the Protestant movement among Armenians in Georgia, and the abuse of Protestant Nestorians by Armenians. He notes that Roth is Prussian and the Russian Government has made additions to his church and house. Young shares that he spoke to the English Consul in Pote on the matter and writes about the result. He writes again on June 12, mentioning the box of books and Henry Martyn's case.

Frank N.H. Young letter to members of the Nestorian Mission in which Young writes about what he has been trying to accomplish in England. He discusses, firstly, his besieging the Foreign Office to interfere on behalf of their mission in relation to the Lazarists and get them to do more to protect the Nestorians. He mentions Mr. Layard writing to Alison. He secondly discusses his attempts to get up a subscription for the Nestorians separate from missionary funds. He mentions the Bible Society and Tract Society and asks if they would like him to apply to the English Prayer Book Society. He says it is uncertain if he will be permitted to join their circle again and that if he goes to England again he will go to the Bishop of London for help.

He mentions Mar Yohannan. Clark also writes regarding the attempts by the Jesuits to hinder Perkins' mission. He shares news of his family, his parish work, local clergy members, other local individuals, and of the Board meeting (presumably an American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions meeting). Mar Yohannan, Mr. Baron, Mr Wiley, Swift, Brother Clapp and his wife, Dr. Osgood, Mr. Russell, and Mr. Porter are all mentioned in the letter.

Keith Edward Abbott letter presumably to Justin Perkins in which Abbott says he is mostly occupied now with attendance on Minister Alison (Charles Alison) who arrived on the 19th, so he can do no better than to acknowledge the receipt of letters from Perkins. He goes on to discuss a case regarding the Nestorians and their church which he mentions in strict confidence, and he ask Perkins' for clarification regarding how long Catholicism has been in Oroomiah (Urmia). He mentions the Lazarists. He also asks to trouble Perkins with a letter and bill for Mrs. Barbara.

Friedrich Haas letter to Justin Perkins in which Haas writes about his frustrations and negative opinions about the things he hears daily and the Persians stating if it weren't for the Gospel's sake he would leave this country. Haas tells Perkins about Nicolas being threatened and extorted on his travels from Teheran (Tehran) and notes Dr. Grant will inform them of Nicolas' next destination. Haas provides Perkins with an address in Germany in hopes that Perkins will continue to send letters and thanks Perkins for the items he has sent. In addition, Haas writes about Mr. Brandt and Mr. Zohrab regarding a conversation about Protestant Mission labors, ruminates over a book written by Mr. Smith and its unflattering conclusions regarding Catholicism, and mentions a story discussed among his, Perkins' and Mr. Schneider's servants. Haas also writes of Mr. Nisbet, Dr. Riach, Mr. Southgate's arrival, his hopes Dr. Grant will visit, and notes details around the delivery of packages and letters.

Bliss) letter to Justin Perkins in which Bliss responds to a letter from Perkins with news of the mission in Oroomiah (Urmia) and news from America regarding Mr. Merrick and Mr. Jones. He remarks on Merrick's situation, mentioning the Committee. Bliss goes on to discuss their house. He also remarks on the Catholic Friars in Trebizond (Trabzon), saying that the friars oppose them. He discusses other news of their mission that Perkins will find in a circular sent to him. Brother Powers, Mr. Goodell, Mr. Van Lennep, Professor Condit, Mr. Holladay, Brother Stoddard, and Mr. Charnaud are all mentioned in the letter.

F.B. Banister letter to Justin Perkins in which Banister explains that she was asked by Miss Wheelwight to contribute this letter to a box for Perkins. She writes of books that she had hoped to add to the box but could not and of other publications she still hopes to add. She remarks on the current political situation in the United States, saying that perhaps more than anything else they should fear a struggle with the Catholics. Banister also writes regarding her faith in God, Perkins' missionary work, and another missionary’s account that she heard. F.B. Banister may stand for Frances B. Banister.

A.L. Holladay letter to Justin Perkins in which Holladay responds to news relating to the Perkinses' journey to Erzeroom (Erzurum) and health. He mentions his own bout of dysentery, his duties correcting sheets for the press, Dr. Grant's safe arrival at the Patriarch's, and the adjustment of English and Persian affairs with the expected arrival of Sir John McNeill. He writes regarding the decision between Mr. Stocking or Mr. Jones visiting the mountains and the firman Dr. Riach procured from the Shah requiring the prince-governor (of Urmia) to be impartial in dealing with the Christian sects. He says that this will safeguard them to some extent against the Catholics. He also writes regarding Meerza Bâgher and the case in which he was accused of beating the king's feradges. Bosí and Bashi are mentioned. Holladay discusses a visit from the prince and the health of his own family. Subsequent A.L. Holladay's letter, A.M. Holladay writes briefly to Charlotte Bass Perkins, responding to news of Charlotte and Judith's health and sharing news regarding her son and someone who is staying with her.

N.G. Clark (Nathaniel George Clark) letter to Justin Perkins in which Clark writes regarding the appeal to the Archbishop of Canterbury and Bishop of London from Nestorians of the mountain district imploring for aid and religious instruction relating to their oppression, needs, and the inadequacies of American missionaries. He asks Perkins to give a statement regarding the effects of his missionary labors. Clark explains that he fears possible English interference and asks Perkins about the separation between the Evangelical and Old Nestorians. Clark also mentions the ordination of Mr. Andrus and suggests Perkins contribute statements regarding the petition to English publications.

Friedrich Haas letter to Justin Perkins in which Haas informs Perkins of the fate of the men who assailed him, noting Mr. MacNeil (Sir John McNiell) has procured a Firman from the King to punish them. Haas says the Amyr would have taken care of it and punished them "like the robber of the Nestorian girl." Haas shares information he learned about Don Isa, a Catholic Bishop at Selmas, who said Perkins was only preparing the way by convincing the Nestorians of the Divinity of Christ and that eventually they would all become his (the Bishop's) property. Haas responded that the Nestorians need not be convicted of this, they already believed it, and that only their enemies "wish to prove them their unbelief in this dogma." Haas tells Perkins to relay this to his Nestorians and keep their eye against the Catholics so they won't be deceived. In addition, Haas tells Perkins of a conversation his Servant, Nicolas, had with Colonel Shel (likely Colonel Sheil) who did not speak well of Mr. Nisbet, Mr. Merrick, and the German and American missionary presence. Haas goes on to discuss goods and the progress of Perkins' school.

Friedrich Haas letter to Justin Perkins in which Haas speaks of leaving Persia and hopes letters to be delivered before his departure that will determine if Hoernle and Schnieder travel with him. Haas states he has not left yet as he is waiting for money he borrowed to be sent to a watchmaker appointed by the Shah and notes it is private money so he cannot leave it to others and describes the arrangement and details to Perkins. Haas shares that he may be made a chevalier of the Persian order of the sun & lion, commenting that it should be called the order of the moon and cat, for his services in the time of cholera. Haas notes that it is a great honour however, he feels it is more a curiosity and decoration. Haas mentions William (Perkins) being ill with measles and hopes him a speedy recovery noting how trying it must be for Perkins to never be without sickness. Haas writes about the Salmas Bishop noting the Bishop will not do anything against the Nestorians or Perkins and mentions the Bishop's "imprudence" in going to a Mohamendan (Muslim) tribunal to decide a theological question. In addition, Haas mentions Mr. Nisbet and Mr. Merrick, shares negative opinions about Persia and the Persians, describes a dispute with Soolyeman Khan, and says the Prince Royal is recovering from a suspected poisoning by Kariman Mirsa.
