E.E. Thompson letter to Justin Perkins in which Thompson says that since they last sat in the same parlor in Liverpool, there has been a wide gap placed between them. She writes about longing to go back to Oroomiah (Urmia) and how she could help Miss Rice and be useful there. She discusses needing to have faith in God and says she will try to be content and even happy wherever the Savior should lead her. She prays that Perkins will never feel lonely and will have much work to do (at the Nestorian Mission).

A.H. Wright letter to Justin Perkins in which Wright writes about the changes to his plans, from everyone in his family except Caty returning to Persia to his family staying and him returning alone. He notes the misgivings of his wife regarding the previous plan and the letter from her elder brother remonstrating against them going, which led Wright to reconsider. He also notes the difficulty with the prior plan relating to where to settle Caty and Caty's health. He says his family will probably remain in this place (Poughkeepsie) and that the time of his leaving is not settled. Wright also shares what he knows of other returned missionaries plans.

A.E. Powers (Ann E. Powers, formerly Crane) letter to Justin Perkins in which Powers responds to a letter from Perkins and writes about the death of Edwin (Crane) nine years prior. Continuing several days later, Powers says that Mr. (Philander) Powers has been recalled to Adrianople in place of Mr. (Oliver) Crane and they hope to go next spring. She notes Mr. P.'s current employment and her duties as a pastor's wife. Powers mentions family members Hattie, Freddie, and Eddie and expresses what a privilege it will be to rejoin missionary friends in the foreign field. She reminiscences about her and her former husband's time among the Nestorians. She also responds to news of Mr. and Mrs. Labaree losing their child Georgie and briefly remarks on a note from Miss Rice.

P. O. (Philander O.) Powers letter to Justin Perkins in which Powers writes at the suggestion of his wife. He writes regarding his marriage (to A. E. Crane) and shares his sympathies regarding Perkins' present trials. Powers writes that Mr. (Oliver) Crane wrote him requesting that he take his place in Adrianople. He says he will do so as his wife desires to go and his children, especially Hattie, approve. He remarks that he is dreading breaking up here (at Oneida Lake) but that once back in the missionary field, no doubt he will rejoice. He writes about the trial it will be to leave his children. He comments briefly on public affairs, saying "the doom of slavery is sealed."

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin Perkins in which Fiske writes from South Hadley regarding Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins. She writes of her plans to speak with Dr. Tyler about Mrs. Perkins' situation in the Asylum. Fiske continues the letter in Boston. She remarks on another woman who has been removed from an asylum in Jacksonville and writes regarding the need for a physician at the Oroomiah (Urmia) Mission. She also writes of the possibility of her returning to Oroomiah. Mr. Treat, Mr. Cozzens, Dr. Bass, Dr. Anderson, Mrs. Stoddard, Mr. and Mrs. Hazen, Mrs. Shedd, Dr. Wright, Dr. Young, Miss Rice, Miss Crawford, Mr. Cochran, Mr. and Mrs. Chandler, and Mrs. Rhea are all mentioned in the letter.

A partial letter from H. W. (Hanna Willard) Lyman presumably to Justin Perkins expressing pleasure at Perkins' prospect of returning to Persia and the Nestorians. Lyman sends greetings and offers help to Mrs. Perkins (Charlotte Bass Perkins) and says she is glad Charlotte "has decided to have Henry in this country" which Lyman feels will be to the boy's advantage. Lyman also discusses "the city" which she notes has more troops in it than there were in all of Canada during the rebellion, mentions Grenadier Guards of the Scotch Fusiliers going up Beaver Hall Hill to the Cathedral, notes she does not believe there will be war between England and America, and shares her thoughts on current events and the Lord's will imploring Perkins to think of "Prof. Peck at Beaufort amongst the contrabands." Lyman also mentions Carter wrote to her regarding the sale of Henry's memoir and notes she wrote to ask Carter on what terms their Societies might be allowed to have it.

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin Perkins in which Fiske writes of spending the last several months in Boston after leaving the Seminary (Mount Holyoke Seminary). She remarks on the possibility of her returning to Oroomiah (Urmia) and discusses a visit with Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins (in the asylum). Writing of Perkins' separation from his family, she expresses her faith in God's designs. Fiske also writes regarding American missionaries returning to their fields and Perkins' impressions of a book he called the "Persian Holyoke" (Woman and Her Savior in Persia). Mr. Laurie, Miss Lyon, Miss Rice, Dr. Tyler, Mr. Beber, Henry (Martyn Perkins), Mr. Eddy, Dr. Lord, Mr. Washburn, Mr. Hazen, Mr. Treat, and Dr. Anderson are all mentioned in the letter. The letter appears to be missing a page.

A. Eliza Crane (Ann E. Cowles Crane, later Powers) letter to Justin and Charlotte Bass Perkins in which Crane thanks them for their letters and for the ones written by her husband (Edwin Crane). She writes about the final action "of the Com." declining to send her back to Persia. Crane describes her feelings on not being able to go back and teach there. She also writes regarding her current work at Vesper Cliff for the Sardys (John B. Sardy and family), her son Eddie, correspondence with the Cochrans, possibly preparing a work for Sabbath schools, and trying to meet with fellow missionaries. She asks the Perkinses for updates.

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin and Charlotte Bass Perkins in which Fiske writes that she has just finished reading their Oroomiah (Urmia) mail and will return it. She writes further regarding letters, mentioning Mrs. Stoddard and Doctor. She says to Charlotte that she is sure they would be glad to see her back in Oroomiah, discusses what she may do over vacation, and writes of her improving health. Fiske notes that the Oroomiah Mission has been the subject of special prayer here (Mount Holyoke Seminary) today and says that she read most of their letters to Miss Ballantine and Lucy.

She shares what she has heard regarding his wife and discusses the death of Mrs. Eliza (Pomeroy Dutton) Fiske. Fiske goes on to write of gathering information on deceased graduates of "this Seminary" (Mount Holyoke Seminary) and of a meeting (of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions) in Springfield, discussing several individuals. She mentions a visit from Mrs. Stoddard and sends her love to the Nestorians.

Alexander Wilson McClure letter to Justin Perkins expressing disappointment at having missed connecting with Perkins in Boston after nearly a decade apart. McClure shares everyone in Malden, Massachusetts was also anxious to meet with him, his wife and child, his Nestorian friend, and to learn of his mission work, and of the youth they sponsored. McClure invites Perkins and his Nestorian friend to spend a Sabbath where he says a subscription will be taken for the American Board (American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions). McClure shares in the Perkins' bereavements with news of the death of two of his family members including his first born noting it must be thrice as painful to bury three children as it is to bury one.

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin Perkins in which Fiske writes about visiting Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins in Somerville (at the asylum) with Mrs. Stoddard. She shares her opinion of Dr. Tyler and discusses Charlotte's room, status, and treatment. Fiske also writes regarding her upcoming plans and Perkins' feelings in reference to her not yet returning to Persia. She continues the letter several days later, saying that she was obliged to rest a few days. Fiske writes that Mrs. Stoddard is there and mentions Sarah and Lucy as well.

She speaks of faith and God's mercy in discussing Perkins' separation from his family. Fiske says that she hopes to see Henry (Martyn Perkins) and will try to see Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins in the future. She writes that Miss Lyman felt that Dr. Tyler was right in refusing friends seeing Mrs. Perkins and shares her own opinions on the matter. Fiske discusses that topic further, says that she believes Perkins is right for returning to their Nestorian friends, and says she will do all she can to encourage Dr. Wright going next year.

She remarks on the death of Mr. (David) Scudder and how his wife Hattie (Harriet Scudder) is doing. Fiske also comments on the health of Thomas Dutton and writes regarding Mrs. (Charlotte Bass) Perkins' status and treatment in the asylum, mentioning Dr. Tyler and Mr. Beber. She expresses her feelings that Justin Perkins has followed the right course of action and writes of faith in God. Fiske also discusses her upcoming plans.

Fidelia Fiske letter to Justin Perkins in which Fiske writes regarding Perkins possibly returning to Persia, saying that she thinks he can be more useful there than anywhere else. She says, though, that she feels it would be best for him to leave Mrs. P. (Charlotte Bass Perkins) in America. Fiske goes on to discuss her own family's health. She mentions wanting to go to Boston with Miss Chapin and writes of a dream she had in which she could speak Syriac well. Fiske hopes they will both return to the mission in Persia in the future and says she is enclosing a scrap from Miss Ballantine for Mrs. Perkins. The enclosure no longer accompanies this letter.

Mary C. Lyman letter to Justin Perkins in which Lyman thanks Perkins for his mission work and notes she will communicate that to the Ladies Missionary Society connected with her church and notes that they formerly gave to the Female Seminary but have turned their support to another mission school which has curtailed foreign donations. Lyman references Perkins prospective return to the United States after 35 years of missionary work noting he could do much good in America noting several ways returned missionaries are employed and awaken interest in missionary work. She shares that their new church had opened, talks of faith, and shares her opinions on the view that Christ's cause was retrograding and believes advancement would be more rapid if all who believe were active in the cause. She discusses Dr. Henry Wilkes' attending meetings of the Congregational Union, the Presbyterian Synod, and the Episcopalians.

She also writes regarding the possibility of her return to the mission. She mentions Miss Rice and the book Woman and Her Savior in Persia. She also writes of her progress on the work on Miss Lyon and discusses the status of Henry (Martyn Perkins), Dr. Wright, Mr. Hazen, and Mr. and Mrs. Coan. In closing, Fiske writes of faith in God.
