Hugh H. Riach letter to Justin Perkins in which Riach writes that he now lives with his uncle, John Heugh. He shares that his stepmother (Sophia Riach) now lives in London and his grandmother and all his aunts have left Glasgow and now live in Manchester. He notes a visit from Dr. Thompson and says he is glad Perkins has pleasing recollections of his visit with them in Plymouth. Riach shares that one of Colonel Woodfall's daughters is staying with them and the rest of his family are coming. He also mentions the proposed dis-endowment of the Irish Church and the disputation it is likely to cause. In a postscript, he says he is forwarding the letter through Constantinople missionaries.

J.P. Riach letter to Justin Perkins in which Riach shares the news of the death of his father and the ill-health of his only sister. He says he does not know enough about what is going on in Tehran to be able to give Perkins any facts from which he could judge the state prospects of Persia and "us" (the British) in it. He expresses how much he enjoyed his recent visit in Ooroomiah (Urmia), shares his distress about Samuel based on a letter received from India, and reminds Perkins to keep him informed about Mar Shimon and Dr. Grant. He also writes regarding Mr. Taliatine and his system of teaching. He suggests Perkins ask Taliatine to visit to see his schools. He mentions the Prince, Armenians, Perkins' two sons, multiple members of the Nestorian Mission, Mr. Southgate, and Nazir Aly Khan's "fat son." Riach notes that he delivered Mr. Stocking's cash to Mr. Nisbet.

Sophia Riach letter to Justin Perkins in which Riach writes regarding a variety of topics including faith in God, her deceased husband (James Pringle Riach), her husband's son Hugh Riach, Hugh's salvation, the subscription to the building fund for the new church in Oroomiah (Urmia), Protestantism, a letter from Mrs. Perkins, the oppression of the Nestorians, her minister, her dear friend Mrs. F. (Fishbourne), and how she looks forward to Heaven. Hugh's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. John Heugh, and Lady McNeill are mentioned. The first several pages of the letter were written at an earlier date and from a different location than the continuation of the letter on the last several pages.

Riach letter to Justin Perkins in which Riach writes regarding a variety of topics and individuals: his and his wife's wanderings until his son Hugh's occupation is settled, the return of Christ and when they will meet in Heaven, Mrs. Perkins' letter and feelings about her place and circumstances, the trial of her status on the Perkins family, Justin Perkins' letter on "the work of the Christian Church" and the oppression of the Nestorians, photographs of the Perkinses, his wife (Sophia Riach), Mr. and Mrs. Woodfall, Mrs. Heugh, the war in America and what will surely be the death blow of cursed slavery, his own health, his son's studies in Glasgow, and the proposed union of Presbyterian churches in Scotland. Mr. Heugh, Mr. Nisbet, and Sir John and Lady McNeill are also mentioned in the letter. Riach provides a stable address for him in care of Oriental Bank Corporation in London.
