Abstract | The first issue of Io, an interdisciplinary literary magazine. Entries varied in form such as poems, drawings, short stories, and essays. Some entries were working drafts, esoteric, or experimental pieces. Io was published as individual issues until 1976 when it underwent a merger. Thereafter, its collections were converted to anthologies. The editors of Io were Richard Grossinger, a student of Amherst College when Io was founded, and Lindy Hough, a student of Smith College when Io was founded. |
