Abstract
A draft of a letter addressed to Brother Brainerd that is presumed to have been written by Justin Perkins. Perkins expresses gratitude over receiving a journal and discusses his journey to his destination in Persia. He also writes regarding his missionary efforts, the Nestorian Christians, and religion in the area. Perkins mentions Mrs. P. (presumably Charlotte Bass Perkins), a Nestorian bishop and priest who are teaching him Syriac, and "Mohammedans" (Muslims). He expresses hope over the new king (Mohammad Shah Qajar) and critiques the old king (Fath-Ali Shah Qajar) for practicing polygamy.
