Abstract
C. Hamlin letter to Justin Perkins in which Hamlin writes regarding how solitary Perkins must feel and discusses how many of the missionaries he himself used to correspond with who are no longer in the field. He writes of his faith that he and Perkins will be rewarded for their suffering on behalf of Christ's work and kingdom. Hamlin notes that they are awaiting Brother Wood. He remarks on a change in English sentiment a change in brother (George Royds) Birch's opinion. He writes regarding politics, news from America regarding the Civil War, present-day slavery and the historical slavery of (God's) "own people," the possibility of war with France, and the death of his brother (Hannibal Hamlin).
