Dates | 1830-1869 |
Abstract | S.P. Coan (presumably Sarah P. Coan) letter to Justin Perkins in which Coan responds to notes. She addresses the suggestion for a door keeper, says she regrets they will not be in Gawar by winter, comments on someone reaching Oroomiah (Urmia), and discusses the school room. She also writes regarding the masons and the difficulties they will face if they chose to come. She expresses her dread that the Moudir may come and her hope to stay there (presumably in Memikan). Coan remarks on the "Koords" (Kurds) several times. In a postscript, she says that she hopes to see such a school there as that of Miss Fisk and Miss Rice in Oroomiah. Shaleas, Deacon Tamo's wife, Henry, and two individuals with illegible names are mentioned. |
