Abstract
William C. Jackson letter to Justin Perkins in which Jackson discusses the brethren who had visited in Trebizond (Trabzon) and who will shortly reach Perkins at the Nestorian mission at Oroomiah (Urmia). Jackson recounts the threatening responses to his work from the Greeks and Armenians. He mentions his attempts to learn Turkish and shares his eventual goal of mastering the Armenian language and of his devotion to building "an enlightened christian community" which he feels will be a difficult task.
