Abstract | A portion of a letter from Elizabeth Dickinson presumably to Justin Perkins in which Dickinson writes regarding the notice relating to Mar Elias in the Missionary Herald, Perkins' large Bible, Miss (Fidelia) Fisk's book Woman in Persia, and a picture of the Sem. (presumably Seminary) that she is sending. She also discusses the status of Amherst (likely Amherst College) and of Andover (likely Andover Theological Seminary). Dickinson shares news of Mr. Sweetser and her cousins the Cowans who escaped from the South. She says she does not have time to tell Perkins of what the country is doing for the "white refugees and black contrabands and brown soldiers." |
