Abstract
Charlotte B. Perkins letter to her husband Justin Perkins in which Charlotte writes over several days. She discusses rides outside she has taken and visits she has made. She mentions their daughter Judith and writes about a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bell. Charlotte responds to a letter received from Justin and writes regarding his reception by the Episcopalians in Washington, saying how shameful it was. She discusses Justin's clothing needs and reminds him that "a public gentleman reflects honor or disgrace upon his wife." She also remarks on an article in the paper mentioning Justin's arrival in Washington from the N.Y. Express and speaking of the bishop (Mar Yohannan).
