Abstract
Eli Smith letter to Justin Perkins in which Smith rejoices at the renewal of their correspondence. He responds to the specimen of writing Perkins sent him, discussing matters relating to type and font. He remarks on Perkins' progress translating the Bible, and he says he is now engaged in their seminary and his translation work has not yet begun. He writes about his plans for the translation work, his current engagement in teaching a theological student Hebrew and Arabic, and the languages themselves. He also updates Perkins on the status of things there, mentioning the Turkish government.
