Abstract | Fr. Edw. Schneider letter to Justin Perkins in which Schneider thanks Perkins for his kind favors which encourage him to improve his skill in writing in English. He also thanks him for his sympathies regarding their embarrassments respecting their journey and new field of labors. He goes on to note that their hope to travel with Mr. Haas may be accomplished and that he wrote Mrs. Perkins some lines. Schneider writes about "the mourning days of the Muhammedans" (Muslims) and a matter in which an English merchant (ship) called Vixen sailed to the Eastern Shore of the Black Sea although the Russians had declared the whole shore in blockade. |
