Abstract | John C. Thompson letter to Justin Perkins in which Thompson responds to Perkins' letter. He remarks on Perkins' account of the prospects of religion in the eastern part of the state and writes about the honor they have of living in a time, "when Christ is riding forth in the chariot of his gospel." He agrees that something should be done to increase the standard of piety in college. Thompson also shares updates from his area and situation, noting the upcoming ordination of Daniel Crosby, his residence in a school, and his health. He mentions Hyde visiting the school and the revival in Hadley, and he says he has studied about as much as Perkins has. |
