Abstract | H. Shepard letter to Justin Perkins in which Shepard writes regarding her church (First Congregational Church in Amherst), individuals known to both of them, specimens received from abroad for Amherst College and Professor Hitchcock, and interest in intelligence received about the Nestorian Mission and Perkins. Specifically mentioned in the letter are: Washburn, Reverend Mr. Bent, Reverend Mr. Haven, Mr. Theodore Lyman, his widow (Susan Willard Whitney Lyman), their son (Henry Lyman), Schneider, Henry Homes, Miss Whiting, her parents, Brother and Sister Boltwood, their son George Shepard Boltwood, Mr. Sweetser, his son John Howard, Mrs. Washburn, Miss Sophie Parsons, and Reverend Mr. Aiken. |
