Abstract
A letter to Benjamin Silliman in which Edward Hitchcock writes about several matters in little depth. For example, he writes that Amos Eaton is lecturing in New York, that he is looking forward to Silliman's first issue of the American Journal of Science, and that he is unable to visit Silliman this summer. Many calculations are written on the page that includes the address.
