Abstract | A letter to Benjamin Silliman in which Edward Hitchcock asks Silliman's advice on whether or not he should accept a position with the geological survey of New York. Hitchcock fears the pay is not enough, but also thinks the change would do him good and the country would be interesting to examine. Hitchcock also speculates as to who else he believes will be employed for this geological survey. |
