Abstract
A second copy of a sermon by Edward Hitchcock on the topic of regeneration and what it means to become a become a "new creature" in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is quoted. Hitchcock strives to show that people must become new creatures in order to be "in Christ" and details the way this is proved in scripture and through the natural depravity of mankind. He then goes on to explain the ways in which mankind does and does not change when becoming new. He claims that while a man remains the same in many ways after regeneration, he becomes different through having a new God, a new Savior, new hopes and fears, and having a new rule of life (meaning he is led by the will of God rather than self-interest).
