Abstract | A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Henry J. Van-Lennep mentions a donation to the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions that was given by students at Amherst College, asking that the money be used for whatever purpose Hitchcock feels is best. Van-Lennep also gives a lengthy description of his missionary work in Turkey, discussing those who are attending the seminary and the effect of the missionaries on the community. The envelope containing the letter is postmarked March 28 and is also included. |
