Abstract
A sermon by Edward Hitchcock discussing the concept that despite differences in practice between denominations, all Christians are united in the most essential ways. Hitchcock details the ways in which they are alike, such as in the essential articles of faith, in their desires, hopes, prayers, and efforts to obey God, and in their feeling of sinfulness. John 17:21 is quoted. Hitchcock has noted the dates and locations where he delivered this sermon as well as Bible chapters and hymns related to the sermon on the first page.
