Abstract | A sermon by Edward Hitchcock on the duties of children in religion. Hitchcock reminds children to be grateful to their Sunday school teachers and to act as their teachers instruct them. He also reminds children that they should avoid bad company, should not lie, should obey their parents, and should pray to God. He also explains that children have an everlasting soul and that they too will die someday. 1 John 2:12 is quoted. Hitchcock has noted the date and location where he delivered the sermon as well as Bible chapters and hymns related to the sermon on the first page. |
