Abstract | A sermon by Edward Hitchcock about the effects that a revival of religion has on different types of people. Hitchcock claims that during times of revival some men become more aware of their failings and realize the value of their souls, thus working harder to be true to God, while others become more resolute in their opposition to religion. John 12:8 is quoted. Hitchcock has noted on the first page the dates and locations where he delivered this sermon as well as Bible chapters and hymns related to the sermon. |
