Abstract | A sample copy of a September 1 (year not indicated) issue of "The Weekly Telegram," a Nelson brothers' periodical describing news and events from their fictional world, presented in a two-column format. This issue opens with the account of Ethan Allen's visit to his friend William J. Little's cabin on the coast of Black Ocean. During the visit Little and Allen have some success at fishing for cod. This story is followed by a substantial news briefs section compiling the news from around the Nelson brothers' world. News includes agricultural yields, explorations, building and developments, crime and other news relevant to the week. A section called "Conundrums" lists short riddles and puns. An article by Elmer Nelson titled "The Building of Dugout and Trappers City Railroad," describes the construction of a new railroad. Several advertisements close the issue. |
