Abstract | An issue of one of the many Nelson brothers' periodicals, presented in a two-column format and published by their fictitious enterprise, the War News Pub. Co. The Nelsons appear to have paid special attention to the illustrations in this particularly detailed issue and several include red and blue color detail. The opening story, "The Great B.C. Telescope," tells in great detail of a new telescope being mounted at the fictional Allentown. The story includes detailed illustrations of portions of the telescope. Other stories report on battles, trapping, naval and railroad developments, and a purchase by the Nelson Brothers of the seed stock of W.R. Nelson, seedsman, for the high price of 30,000 dollars. The main stories are followed by a profiles of the characters, skier Jimmy Allen and William J. Little (Arthur Nelson's alter ego). The issue ends with news briefs from around the Nelson brothers' world. |
