Title | Henry Hitchcock hymnbook, 1805 April 25 |
Dates | 1805-04-25 |
Abstract | A bound hymnbook created by Henry Hitchcock (brother of Edward Hitchcock) containing musical notation and lyrics. Many of the lyrics were written by Isaac Watts and not all of the hymns have lyrics accompanying them. Henry has written his name on the inside cover of the book, and Nathaniel Hitchcock (Henry's son) and Edward Hitchcock, Jr. have also signed the inside cover, both with accompanying dates (likely the dates they inherited the hymnbook). Hitchcock Jr. notes that he was given the hymnbook by Eunice H. Huntington (Henry's daughter). |
