Abstract
A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman writes that he will loan his copy of [Gideon] Mantell's Geology of Sussex to Hitchcock, comments on John Hull and Hitchcock's access to bones, reports [Samuel George] Morton's criticism of a report appearing in [George Featherstonhaugh's] Monthly American Journal of Geology & Natural Science, and asks Hitchcock to remind the students at Amherst College to pay their balances for The American Journal of Science.
