Abstract | A letter to Edward Hitchcock in which Benjamin Silliman asks Hitchcock to return his copy of [Gideon] Mantell's book and also asks to borrow Hitchcock's copy of [Henry] De la Beche's Section of English strata. Silliman also offers to loan to Hitchcock another book by [Gideon] Mantell, as well as [Charles] Lyell's text, and describes the order of precedence at Yale College. He also quotes a criticism made by [Samuel George] Morton of [George] Featherstonhaugh's new Monthly American Journal of Geology & Natural Science. |
