Dates | 1855-02-22 |
Abstract | A letter to Edward Hitchcock, Jr. in which Orra White Hitchcock writes primarily about why she and Edward Hitchcock have been unable to visit their son and their plans to try to do so. She also writes about the religious interest in Amherst and the students' positive reception of a "Western preacher." She goes on to praise Dr. Stearns [presumably President William Augustus Stearns] as a preacher, teacher, and as a man too. She expresses her hope that when Edward visits, his wife Mary and baby will come too. |
