Abstract
A letter to Orra White Hitchcock in which Edward Hitchcock, Jr. writes about his room at Williston Seminary and his studies there. He also describes in detail some shell specimens he "found in the canal" that he plans to send home and hopes that C.B. Adams [presumably the naturalist Charles Baker Adams], who Orra had mentioned would be coming to Amherst, will be able to identify.
