Abstract | Letter, marked as a duplicate, from Jeffery Amherst dated October 4, 1761 from Staten Island, New York. The letter is addressed to Colonel John Bradsteet. Jeffery Amherst advises Bradstreet that he has ordered men from the 17th Regiment to march from Albany, New York to Staten Island, New York. Colonel Bradstreet is directed by Amherst to provide sloops to transport the Regiment down river from Albany and to ensure they are supplied with the usual ten days provisions. |
