Abstract | Letter from Jeffery Amherst to Sir George Yonge, Secretary at War, dated January 15, 1793. Amherst writes to inform Yonge of the ill health of Insign Clarke of the 60th Regiment and request a leave of absence for Insign Clarke. Amherst enclosed a letter from Dr. J.B. Pearson, dated December 6, 1793, confirming that Insign Clarke is suffering from symptoms of consumption and is unable to join the Regiment in his condition. The identity of Doctor J.B. Pearson could not be determined. |
