Abstract	A letter from Jeffery Amherst to his friend, Major General John Small, dated March 16, 1796, the day before Small's death. Amherst writes to Small that he has just heard of Small's illness. Amherst expresses his great concern and requests that Small write to reassure Amherst that he has fully recovered as soon as he is able to do so.
