Dates | 1822-05 |
Abstract | Edward Hitchcock's sermon on Spring as a measure of the "wide difference between the state of the earth & the state of our hearts." His remarks are based on the Song of Solomon 2:11-13. He suggests ways in which the season is both a reproach to Christians and how it offers "some striking emblems of many important changes that are experienced in the condition of men." Hitchcock noted the dates and places where he had delivered this sermon between 1822 and 1844. |
