Abstract
Edward Hitchcock's sermon on family relationships, based on Psalm 133. The object of the sermon was "to give a general description of a well regulated family." To this end he discussed the conduct and feelings of family members towards one another, towards brethren outside of the family, and towards God. He noted at the conclusion of his discourse that he had been purposely brief with his own remarks in order that he might share "a continuation of the subject as it is presented by the General Association of Connecticut in their last Pastoral Address to the churches." This he proposed to share in its original form rather than to re-craft it into his own language. Hitchcock noted that he had delivered this sermon once.
